L work, C play
- C went out to explore Rue Daguerre (as in daguerrotype, following a suggestion from a friend, Gene): 1 hour by metro. It's not touristy, fun to see. Many shops are closed on Monday. It also had interesting restaurants.
- C walked back to Les Arènes de Lutèce, past a large prison where students had been put in 1940 — it was odd to see a prison in the middle of the city.
- In a game shop there were cards whose backs were reproductions of advertising posters for a company that was promoting trips (for immigration?) from Hamburg, Germany to Canada. It also had a "traditional Canadian game" that looked like Parcheesi.
- C walked along the Seine, past the book sellers (he saw old menus at one place) and Notre Dame.
- C headed back to hotel and explored a bit in that area: nothing much interesting.
- Dinner in Levallois.
